CHRISTIAN EDUCATION COMMITTEEMEETING SCHEDULE: Meets monthly CHAIRPERSON represents committee at Church Council Meetings DUTIES: Support Christian Education by following through on tasks as needed. Organize and create costumes and props for Christmas Eve and Children’s Sunday. Prepare staff-appreciation luncheon for teachers. Organize and put on cookout or cake following Children’s Sunday service. Organize the set-up and take down of the staging for various performances. Help with creative projects for Easter, Christmas Eve, Children’s Church, Advent, etc. Pray for teachers, children, and Christian Education Director. Write annual report for Annual Program Report booklet.
WORSHIP AND MUSIC COMMITTEEMEETING SCHEDULE: Monthly, first Wednesday DUTIES: Plan worship with Pastor and Music Director Arrange for the set-up and clean-up for Communion on the first Sunday of the Month. Arrange for servers. Change paraments for weddings, funerals, different liturgical seasons. Arrange for ordering Christmas and Easter flowers and putting them on the altar Set-up for special services: Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Palm Sunday, and Easter, All-Saints/All-Souls Sunday Strip palms for Palm Sunday presentation Submit annual budget for music and worship Write annual report for Annual Program Report booklet. Support the planning of an alternative worship experience
SPIRITUAL LIFE AND STEWARDSHIP COMMITTEEMEETING SCHEDULE: Primarily meets regularly between September and November, with occasional additional time to plan for retreats for spiritual growth. DUTIES: Focus is to raise awareness of tithing, and the importance of debt free living and responding to God’s blessing. An annual Stewardship Campaign is organized for the fall. Mailings are done, with follow-up phone calls.
OUTREACHMEETING SCHEDULE: First Sunday of each month, 5:00 PM at the church. CHAIRPERSON represents committee at monthly Church Council meeting. DUTIES: To help those in need and promote justice. Members of the committee represent a passion for mission and justice making, i.e.reconciling ministries, New Orleans Mission, domestic violence, addiction and prevention, environmental concerns, Nicaragua, mental illness Arrange for the serving of noontime meal at Salem Mission on first Saturday of each month. Six teams rotate a schedule. Organize, accept, and deliver food donations to the Danvers “People to People” Food Pantry. First Sunday each month. Nicaragua mission: Support “Partner Church in Las Flores,” help fund mission trips to Nicaragua, and coordinate material aid items to be brought to Annual Conference in June. Write Annual Report for Annual Report booklet Program.
HEALTH AND WELFARE MINISTRIESMEETING SCHEDULE: To be announced. DUTIES: Ministry stems from recognition that we are whole people of body, mind, and spirit, and we seek to help address the disease states identified by the members of our congregation. Services have included a bimonthly blood pressure clinic. Designated church area for updates on medicines, disease states and references, in video and pamphlet form.
MEMBERSHIP CULTIVATION AND CARE COMMITTEEMEETING SCHEDULE: Meets monthly on 4th Tuesday of the month. CHAIRPERSON leads meetings, creates programs to find greeters on different months, arranges for Newcomers Nights. Attract new members – Look for visitors ad new people in church. Make conversation. Welcome them. Get information, deliver mugs, etc. Retain Members – Contact those who have been absent. Try to deliver the Trinity Times newsletter. Membership Enrichment – Send “miss you” notes bi-annually. Obtain and Train Greeters
Participate in “Evening of Welcome” Reception for New Members and Confirmands – plan for photos; compile bios for newsletter Plan for Ushers breakfast each fall Serve Coffee one month during the year at Fellowship Time Write annual Report for Annual Program Report booklet Committee has also sponsored college CARE packages and could do this againl.
FINANCE COMMITTEEMEETING SCHEDULE: Meets monthly on first Tuesday, except July and August. CHAIRPERSON responsible for setting agenda of meetings. Reports to congregation periodically through the Trinity Times, weekly bulletin or direct report before Sunday services. Chairperson represents committee at Church Council Meetings DUTIES: To prepare annual budget for vote by Church Council. To form plans for meeting budget needs. To meet monthly to determine status of income and expenses. To monitor fundraisers within the church. Write annual report for Annual Statistical and Financial Report booklet.
JACK AND JILL COMMITTEEMEETING SCHEDULE: Monthly (usually 4th Tuesday), with School Director and parent representatives CHAIRPERSON communicates with members for setting dates and times of meetings. Represents committee at monthly Church Council meetings. Sets agenda for team. COMMITTEE DUTIES: Discuss concerns and problems with enrollment, class schedules, any issues from parents. Discuss school budget. Support School Director in smoother running of program.
STAFF-PARISH RELATIONS COMMITTEE (9 members)MEETING SCHEDULE: Monthly, with Pastor, usually fourth Wednesday of month CHAIRPERSON represents committee at Church Council meeting DUTIES: Support and “sounding board” for the pastor. Receive and discuss concerns brought forth by parishioners. Liaison between church staff and congregation. Discuss and confirm contracts with staff in the spring; ask staff for goals for the program year in the fall; evaluate completion of goals in the spring In the absence of the pastor, the committee creates Sunday service and determines a replacement for the sermon.
BOARD OF TRUSTEES (9 members)MEETING SCHEDULE: Monthly, currently meet the third Wednesday of the month. CHAIRPERSON represents board at Church Council meeting DUTIES: Responsible for Church PROPERTY. Responsible for property insurance. Responsible for the janitorial position. Directs property clean-up project each spring and fall (total 2 Saturdays) Ensures property maintenance and repairs are accomplished and budgets accordingly. Develops long-range plans for capital improvements. Approves rentals. Negotiates prices for fuel, yard care, trash removal, snow clearance and rug cleaning.
LAY LEADERSHIP COMMITTEEThe Pastor chairs this committee which consists of 6 – 9 people in 3 classes in addition to the pastor and lay leaders. Each class is elected for 3 years. The committee’s responsibility is to assess the needs of church leadership, recruit leaders and recommend to the Charge Conference the names of people to serve as officers and leaders of designated ministries of the church. It also helps to guide the development and training of spiritual leaders. |
