Mission
Statement
We
are an inclusive and reconciling Christian
congregation, growing in our discipleship

April
April 6 Service of Word and Table
3rd Sunday of
Easter: The Katrina Mission Team will
share their experiences of their March mission
in New Orleans. The Gospel lesson is the
Emmaus story found in Luke 24: 13 – 35.
Rev. Richard Higgins will celebrate Holy
Communion.
April 13
4th Sunday of
Easter: Rev. Susan will reflect on
Psalm 23 and John 10: 1- 10. Her sermon
topic will be God, Our Shepherd.
The Sacrament of Baptism will be celebrated on
this Sunday.
April 20
Reconciling Ministries Sunday
5th Sunday of
Easter: Each year the Outreach
Committee sponsors a Reconciling Ministries
Sunday, celebrating our status as a reconciling
congregation in the United Methodist
denomination. Diane DeLap, a member at
Ballardvale United Church in Andover and a
transgender woman will share her story.
Since the inclusion of transgender people in the
United Methodist Church will be debated at
General Conference (April 23 – May 2) Diane’s
message will be especially pertinent. The
lectionary readings for this Sunday are from
Acts 7: 55 – 60; 1 Peter 2: 2 – 10
and John 14: 1 -14. Audrey Hartness,
a third year student at Boston University School
of Theology, will share her gift of sacred
dance.
April 27
6th
Sunday of Easter: Rev. Susan will
preach on The Healing Touch of the Holy
Spirit. The lectionary readings will
be from 1 Peter 3: 13 – 22 and John 14:
15 – 21. There will be a time for the
laying on of hands for healing.
